Media Production Specialist - DPSS

The County of Riverside Department of Public Social Services seeks a Media Production Specialist which will be located in Moreno Valley, CA.

The incumbent in this position will develop and distribute media materials and manage all social media platforms.

The Media Production Specialist will also be tasked with keeping the department current with production and editing software.

Additionally, the incumbent will plan, develop, and produce audiovisual programs for educational, public information and training purposes.

Competitive candidates will possess the following:


* Experience in overseeing communication projects and campaigns that utilize web-based information and social media platforms.


* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) for producing graphics, motion graphics, editorial layouts, titles, and post-production editing.


* Experience in planning, developing, and producing multimedia content-including scripting, staging, lighting, filming, sound/video recording, editing, and incorporating special effects and graphics.


* Experience in operating and maintaining professional-level video, audio, and photography equipment.


* Ability to write clear, effective scripts and outlines with scene progression, dialogue, narration, and sound design.


* Experience in preparing and coordinating marketing materials utilizing graphic design (e.g., brochures, flyers).

The incumbent will occasionally be lifting equipment up to 40 pounds (cameras, switchboards, speakers) and standing for long periods of time during shoots.

The Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is comprised of employees who work collectively and in partnership with community-based organizations to serve the needs of the community.• Plan, develop, and produce multimedia programs for educational, public information, and training purposes; consult with management, training, and technical staff to determine goals and objectives, and the content and format of planned multimedia programs.

• Conduct subject matter research in order to collect and determine information of most importance to intended audience; develop script materials including scene progression, action sequence, dialogue, narration, and sound effects.

• Prepare estimates of production expenses and maintain accurate records of such expenditures; develop production schedules and arrange for field locations, equipment, and personnel.

• Arrange for the use of other production facilities (e.g., public television studios, cable studios, or private production services) when necessary.

• Perform or supervise production activities (e.g., casting, staging, directing, lighting, and camera work).

• Perform or supervise post-production work such as editing, sound recording, dubbing and mixing, special effects, titles and graphic, narration, and duplication of completed programs.
