Health and Safety Apprentice

Role Title: Health and Safety Apprentice

Location: Scarborough (On-Site)

Apprentice Level: UK Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Programme

Salary: £20,000

Role Mission:

As a Health and Safety Apprentice you will support the SERE team in promoting and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment across the site.

This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in health, safety, and environmental management while working towards a recognized HSE qualification.

Key Responsibilities:


* Support health, safety, and environmental processes across the site.



* Assist with risk assessments, audits, and hazard identification.



* Help maintain safety records and contribute to training sessions.



* Monitor energy use, manage waste streams, and support sustainability projects.



* Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations.

Training:

During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training.

'On-the-job' training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer.

You'll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you've been hired to do.

This will include skills and knowledge that fall outside of the apprenticeship but are needed for the job role.

As well as providing 'on-the-job' training, it is important that we support you in additional ways to ensure your success.

Types of support will include:


* A comprehensive induction


* Mentoring or regular one-to-one guidance


* Social enrichment and networking opportunities


* Performance reviews


* Mental health and wellbeing support


* Feedback opportunities

'Off-the-job' training is delivered by one of our carefully selected Training Providers during your normal working hours.

You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours completing 'off-the-job' training.

This is protected time and is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery.

This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence.

Work Pattern

37.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday.

Exact start and finish times areto be agreed uponwith Line Manager.

Some of these hours will be allocated to off-the-job training as part of your Apprenticeship Programme.

Monday to Thursday: 07:55 to 16:25

Friday 07:55 to 13:25
