Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Tech I will provide Emergency patient and family-centered care as a member of the health care team.

The Emergency Department Technician I assumes a range of patient care responsibilities dealing with the physical and emotional aspects of department-specific patient age groups.

Where appropriate they are responsible for providing care and managing supplies and equipment in the Emergency setting.

Excellence in practice includes outstanding customer service with internal and external customers, demonstrating initiative, flexibility and proactivity based on the specific, evolving needs of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


* Performs advanced life support within the scope of practice, as well as participates in Rapid responses in the health center.


* Accurately take and record vital signs,  intake & output as ordered, height and weight, and in a timely manner.


* Successfully completes department-specific annual waived testing competencies per Lab requirements.

such as glucometer, urine dip stick, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and others as requested.


* Performs venipuncture and IV insertion.


* Escort patients to assigned rooms, help them change into gowns, and prepare them for physical assessments.


* Performs CPR according to BLS guidelines.


* Performs 12-lead EKG and sets up for cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications and requirements:


* HS Diploma/GED


* Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.


* One year of Medical Assisting experience strongly preferred.


* One year of Customer Service experience.


* Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.


* Computer literacy.


* Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).

Hourly Rate: Starting at $24.15, and up to $36.50 based on years of experience.
