Quality Engineer Mechanical

The Mechanical Quality Engineer for Switchboards is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and robustness of mechanical components and assemblies used in Low Voltage and/or Medium Voltage switchboards.

This role supports Schneider Electric's commitment to Safety, Customer First, and Sustainability by preventing defects, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

The position acts as a key interface between Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure mechanical integrity, reliability, and conformity of switchboard products.

Key Responsibilities


* Mechanical Quality Assurance


* Ensure compliance of mechanical components, structures, assemblies, and mounting systems of switchboards with Schneider Electric standards, technical specifications, and applicable regulations.


* Validate mechanical assemblies according to drawings, bills of materials, torque specifications, and assembly instructions.


* Support first article inspections, process validations, and change management for mechanical modifications.


* Monitor and improve mechanical manufacturing processes


* Identify quality risks in mechanical processes and implement preventive actions.


* Analyze nonconformities, defects, and rework related to mechanical parts and assemblies.


* Ensure proper implementation of the Quality Fundamentals, control plans, work instructions, and quality checkpoints.


* Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical quality issues (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).


* Drive defect reduction, scrap reduction, and rework elimination initiatives.


* Support Lean and Quality improvement projects aligned with Schneider Electric performance goals.


* support internal and external audits related to mechanical quality and compliance.

Core Tools:

Assist in early deployment and use of Quality Core Tools during process design and launch:


* FMEA (Process) Participate in FMEA development, updates, and risk reduction actions


* Control Plans - Support creation and maintenance of control plans during ramp-up


* MSA - Assist with measurement system analysis activities and documentation


* SPC - Support basic implementation and monitoring of statistical process control


* Assist in defining quality KPIs and monitoring process stability during ramp-up

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
