Job Description:
The HPE Quantum team at HPE Labs is developing new approaches for quantum computing, including integration with high performance computing.
We are simultaneously solving research problems and creating structures for HPE's business offerings in this area.
As a Senior Research Engineer with a focus on Quantum Error Correction (QEC), you will be at the forefront of our efforts to bring quantum computing from a dream to a useful reality.
You will bring your knowledge of QEC and experience developing related tools to the team to provide expert assistance in developing and extending quantum circuit compilation and simulation elements that relate to QEC.
You'll perform cutting-edge research in QEC, influence HPC-QC architectural decisions, and publish and present your findings.
As needs change quickly in this dynamic space, you will also assist with new software development projects; extend open source software; improve quantum circuit compilation and simulation; demonstrate workflow strategies for applications to use to combine high performance and quantum computing; participate in standardization of key interfaces; and demonstrate our technologies.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and product managers.

Role and Responsibilities
Research
* Evaluate quantum error correction strategies to find those that have the best ability to make it possible to run applications on quantum hardware
* Develop improvements to quantum error correction strategies, algorithms, and software
* Contribute to with QC-HPC architecture decisions with detailed knowledge of quantum error correction strategies
* Create and demonstrate novel quantum error correction components and describe these in publications and presentations
