Registered Nurse III - MC/CHC - MSC Recovery (PACU)

The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Medical Center located in Moreno Valley, is currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse III - MC/CHC for the MSC Recovery (PACU) Department.

The RN is responsible for independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex, varied surgical and procedural population.

Under supervision, the incumbent will care for pre and post-OP patients; perform professional nursing duties in the care and services to patients and their families at the Riverside University Health System-Medical Center (RUHS-MC), Community Health Clinics (CHC) or other RUHS locations as assigned, assist physicians and carry out their orders, coordinate a continuum of care for a selected group of patients from pre-admission through post-discharge, and other related duties as required.

Incumbents in this position will be responsible for the following:


* Re-assesses patient for safety issues throughout perioperative period


* Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care


* Follow rights of medication administration by verifying orders, retrieving medications for the correct patient, properly labeling medications, and wasting medications as required.


* Documents clearly, accurately in a timely and appropriate manner


* Care for a post-surgical patient


* Assess patient readiness for discharge


* Perform Phase I and II, and discharge home


* Provide discharge instructions

Li cense and Certificates Required:


* A current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.


* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

The most competitive candidates will possess the following professional experience:


* One (1) year or more of Medical/Surgical ICU or Emergency Department experience required and current PACU experience preferred.


* Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Additional Differentials:


* Critical Care - $4.00 per hour

Critical Care differentials will be applied following completion of required specialty training, attainment of all necessary certifications, and departmental determination that the employee is authorized to work independently.
Work Schedule:
5/40 - Monday to Friday
Hours: 10:00 am to 6:30 pm
