Registered Nurse III MC/CHC Per Diem - Regulatory Compliance

The County of Riverside's Regulatory Compliance Department at Riverside University Health System's Medical Center seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse III MC/CHC to join our team in Moreno Valley.
Under general direction, the Registered Nurse III MC/CHC (Per Diem) supports regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness activities across inpatient and ancillary departments.

This role contributes to achieving and sustaining compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, CDPH Title 22, and The Joint Commission standards through audits, survey preparation, and staff education and real-time compliance support.

This position plays a critical role in supporting organizational survey readiness and may be activated during simultaneous or high-stakes surveys, requiring flexibility, strong leadership, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:

• Supports continuous regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness across inpatient and ancillary departments

• Conducts regulatory audits, including:

• Continuous Survey Readiness Rounds (CSRR)

• Hand hygiene audits

• Waste management and environmental care audits

• EPIC documentation and chart reviews

• Performs real-time and pre-survey chart reviews to identify compliance gaps and facilitate immediate corrective actions.

• Assists with preparation, coordination, and execution of on-site regulatory surveys (CMS, CDPH, and The Joint Commission).

• Serve as survey support staff during regulatory visits (e.g., scribe, escort, document runner, command center support).

• Organize, maintain, and safeguard regulatory documentation, binders, and electronic repositories.

• Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of corrective action plans (CAPs) and plans of correction (PoCs).

• Provide staff education related to regulatory standards, survey readiness, and compliance expectations.

• Communicate audit findings, trends, and compliance risks to leadership and interdisciplinary teams.

• Participate in regulatory meetings, performance improvement committees, and survey debriefs as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies:


* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.


* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and executive leadership.


* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities during high-pressure situations.

Required and Desired Qualifications:


* Active CA Registered Nurse License


* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Master's degree desirable


* Minimum 3-5 years of acute care hospital nursing experience


* Prior experience in Regulatory Compliance, Accreditation, Quality, Patient Safety, or Performance Improvement strongly preferred.
