JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general supervision of an administrative superior, performs general Electrician level duties at various locations and facilities.
Installs, maintains, services, and repairs a variety of electrical systems throughout Weber County.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Designs, installs, repairs, renovates, and maintains electrical components and power systems including communications, lighting controls, and power distribution systems located in various buildings, environments, and locations and ensures electrical work is completed and up to code.
Inspects, troubleshoots, and conducts tests on electrical systems for preventative maintenance utilizing a wide range of testing devices.
Be familiar with and able to use a variety of hand and power tools needed in the electrical industry.
Complies with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.
Supervises and trains others within the county on installations and repairs of electrical components and systems, including trouble shooting and repairs.
Operates and maintains equipment such as backhoes, track-hoes and trenchers.
Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment to accomplish work assignments.
Assists other trades when necessary with maintenance and repairs, construction and remodel projects, snow removal and maintenance for county properties as needed.
Responds to emergency situations during non-regular work hours.
Reads, interprets, and works from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints; maintains an inventory of commonly used materials, supplies, and parts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: 3rd or 4th year apprentice in an Electrician Certification Program or currently licensed as a Journeyman Electrician, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
Knowledge: Need to be confident in approved electrical and field practices.
Must practice proper safety procedures common to electrical installations and maintenance including the utilization of proper PPE while performing the work.
Must know and follow Local, State and Federal laws governing the installation and operation of electrical systems
Abilities: Ability to lead and organize the work of others.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
