GSI Assumption is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated professional to join the team as a machine operator.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to ensure assigned cell meets plan build schedule.

Ensure effective and efficient operational performance regarding areas assigned.

Establish and implement programs (with support of Production and Business Unit Manager) to meet operational targets related to productivity, lean, cost, quality, safety and housekeeping, delivery schedules, through-put, process improvements, team and employee development.
You will work onsite at our Assumption IL facility.

A Powder Coat Part Hanging Machine Operator loads and unloads parts onto conveyor lines, prepares surfaces (cleaning, masking, grinding), hangs them for coating, operates the spray equipment, inspects finished products for quality, and maintains a clean work area, ensuring safety and adherence to specifications, often involving PPE and physical tasks like standing and lifting .

Key Responsibilities


* Preparation: Clean, sand, and mask parts; plug holes and cover surfaces as required by job specifications.


* Loading/Unloading: Hang parts on racks or conveyor hooks and remove them after coating; package finished parts.


* Operation: Load and set up powder coating equipment, select correct powder colors, and ensure proper application.


* Quality Control: Inspect parts for defects, proper coverage, and specified mil thickness.


* Maintenance: Keep the work area, booth, and equipment clean and organized; assist with color changes and solution adjustments.


* Safety: Follow all safety protocols, use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and handle hazardous waste properly.

Required Skills & Abilities


* Attention to Detail: Critical for masking and quality inspection.


* Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.


* Technical Aptitude: To operate machinery and understand technical specifications.


* Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications


* High school diploma or GED often preferred.


* Ability to pass drug tests and background checks.
