The Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health Department is seeking a highly motivated Supervising Behavioral Health Specialist to join the Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment (SAPT) Care Coordination team in Riverside.

This team plays a critical role in supporting individuals in residential treatment programs by providing care coordination and conducting American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) screenings to determine the most appropriate, least intensive, and safest level of care for addiction treatment and placement.

Under minimal supervision, the Supervising Behavioral Health Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and evaluating a multidisciplinary team and support staff engaged in delivering services to individuals, groups, and the community.

In addition to clinical oversight, this position will assist with administrative functions such as budget preparation, monitoring revenue collection, expenditures, and productivity.

Beyond the SAPT Care Coordination team, the Supervising Behavioral Health Specialist will also provide supervision and support to the START and Centralized Screening Programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery across multiple programs.

The schedule for this position is (9/80) from 7:30am-5:00pm w/ every other Friday off .

Candidates are required to be certified at date of application as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor and to have a valid Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) certification in accordance with the certification requirements as pursuant to Sections 11755, 11864, 11876 (a),and 11834.50 of the California Health and Safety Code and Sections 9846, 10125and 10564 of the California Code of Regulations through either the California Consortium of Addictions Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) or the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs or Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (ACCBC).

RUHS-Behavioral Health• Responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining the provider level budget and program's productivity, including expenditures and revenues on a monthly basis, and providing input/recommendations for annual budget reviews/updates in conjunction with management.

• Ensures that all legal requirements of unit and/or contract service providers are met.

Maintains, monitors, and compiles qualitative and quantitative reports based on the data requirements submitted by the staff and service providers.

• Coordinates, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the treatment/recovery, counseling, referral, and prevention services provided by staff.

Evaluates performance of staff and implements appropriate response.
