Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts.

As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a Construction Inspector I to join the construction services team in either Columbia or Greenville, SC! In this role, you will play a key part in inspecting infrastructure projects across South Carolina, including water/wastewater systems, roadways, and other civil works.

RESPONSIBILITIES


* Monitor contractor methods and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards, plans, and specifications.


* Maintain accurate project documentation, including Daily Work Reports, material records, pay items, pressure test results, progress photos, and other required information.


* Communicate effectively with project teams and coordinate activities.


* Conduct sampling and materials testing for concrete, earthwork, and asphalt as needed.


* Complete and maintain industry-related training and certifications.


* Actively contribute to department initiatives and participate in company meetings.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


* High School Diploma or GED required.


* 1+ years of construction or inspection experience


* Willingness to travel, work varied shifts/weekends, and in all weather conditions


* Valid driver's license; ability to pass background check

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $21/hr - $35/hr.

This compensation range is a good-faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
