ENGR 241 Grader – Graduate Student

Job Description 

A Grader will be hired to facilitate ENGR 241 Probability and Statistics with Data Science Applications to aid the Instructor by grading student coursework. ENGR 241 meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays but work for the Grader position is expected to last throughout the week. 

 

This position is designed for enrolled, full-time status, Master’s Students at Stevens Institute of Technology. 

 

Activities: 


* Grading student coursework 



* Other duties (within reason) as directed by the ENGR 241 Instructor, Assistant Director of Core Engineering and Science Education, and Director of Undergraduate Studies 

 

Though the Grader will work most closely with the ENGR 241 Instructor, the position will report to and submit hours to the SES Assistant Director of Core Engineering and Science Education. 

 

This class places heavy emphasis on tools and methods useful in successfully analyzing, understanding, and communicating probability and statistics required for the modern engineer to succeed.

An excellent candidate is a student with a work history which reflects strong command of the subject who is passionate about probability and statistics and interested in sharing that passion with others. 

  

Students with prior teaching experience and/or service in the School of Engineering and Science are highly encouraged to apply.

Prior experience with Microsoft Office and Canvas is preferred. 

 

Though this application is open to all Master’s Students at Stevens Institute of Technology, those pursuing a degree in Data Science or the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering (CEOE) within the School of Engineering and Science are expected to find the best fit. 

 

This is a part-time, hourly position for 10 – 20 hours per week during the semester.

The applicant will be hired for the Spring 2026 semester only. In keeping with School of Engineering and Science compensation guidelines, the Grader will receive no less than $18/hour and no more than $22/hour. 

 

The role is intended to prepare the student for, though does not guarantee, subsequent semesters of work as an ENGR 241 Grader pending performance review and student enrollment in future terms of ENGR 241.
