Maintenance Assistant

About us 

Crowne Plaza Christchurch is located in the heart of downtown Christchurch, right opposite Victoria Square and just a short walk from major attractions, including the Avon River, Town Hall, Art Gallery, Te Pae Conference Centre and the modern dining and shopping precincts. 

Our Maintenance department is the heart and center of the hotel, and you could be joining this great team as a Maintenance Assistant with us! 

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork.

From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day.

With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with dedication and pride.  

 

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: 

You’ll keep our hotel running smoothly which is vital to our guest's experience – as Maintenance Assistant.

Key responsibilities include: 


* General building maintenance and repairs 



* Carry out scheduled inspections 



* Respond to requests from departments throughout the day 



* Investigate equipment for faults 



* Maintain the hotel to the desired standard 

What we need from you 


* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 



* Great communication skills with a friendly, approachable character 



* Physical ability to carry out manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods 



* Relevant certifications or licenses (a plus, but not required) 



* Attention to detail and an ability to multi-task are key to success  



* Strong safety awareness and the ability to understand and follow health guidelines to keep yourself and others safe
