Security Guard

Nemours is seeking a Public Security Officer to join our team in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities:

Provide protection for patients, visitors, and associates by maintaining peace and order at Nemours Children's Hospital - Delaware (NCH-D).

Prevention, detection, investigation and reporting of unlawful and unsafe activities within the Hospital and contiguous properties and buildings Investigation includes interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects; collecting, reviewing, and preserving evidence and conducting searches and surveillance.

Application of non-violent verbal intervention and de-escalation skills to mitigate disruptive behavior and dangerous activity.

Provide escort of unauthorized individuals from the campus and prevent patient elopement and abduction.

Conduct fire, evacuation, and miscellaneous emergency management drills as require by the State of Delaware, the Joint Commission and the Centers for Medic are and Medicaid Services.

Investigate violations of Nemours Standards of Behavior as directed by Nemours Administration, Human Resources, Risk, Legal and Public Safety department leadership.

Provide access control into the Hospital and specific areas of the Hospital as well as apply visitor restrictions limitation measures instituted by the Hospital.

Provide safe vehicle transportation or ambulance support for patients and families, as needed.

Provide one on one patient monitoring for inpatient units; patients assist for aggressive or unstable patients; escorts for patients in custody, visitor designated as tier two or three sex offenders, and visitors with history of aggressive behavior or domestic issues; patient searches; and room safety sanitization for suicidal/homicidal patients.

Provide first responder assessment of threats against staff, patients, and families.

Qualifications:


* High school diploma required


* Security officer experience preferred
