Maintenance Manager

We're seeking a knowledgeable and friendly Maintenance Manager at McKay Creek Assisted Living in Pendleton, Oregon, to direct and perform repairs, preventative maintenance and other functions related to the physical plant.

Our senior living community is made up of 42 apartments (two bedroom, one bedroom and studio).

A candidate who has a heart for seniors and skilled in property maintenance is the preferred candidate!

The Maintenance Manager will have on-call expectations on nights and weekends.

A qualified candidate will receive salaried compensation of $56-58,000/year, or commensurate with experience , and full-time benefits through PACS.

The primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, to assure that the community is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Essential Duties


* Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.

Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.


* Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.


* Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).


* Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the Maintenance Department.


* Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions to ensure that tasks involving the potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded.


* Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.


* Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed.


* Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such to the Executive Director.


* Ensure that services performed by outside vendors are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders.


* Meet with maintenance personnel on a regularly scheduled basis, solicit advice from interdepartmental supervisors concerning the operation of the maintenance department, assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or improve services.


* Review and check competence of maintenance personnel and make necessary adjustments or corrections as required.


* Make daily rounds to assure that maintenance personnel are performing required duties and that appropriate maintenance procedures are being rendered to meet the needs of the facility.
