Lead Software Engineer - Java (API Marketplace)

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within Consumer and Community Banking's (CCB) API Marketplace team, you are an integral part of an agile team that enhances, builds, and delivers trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.
You will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, applying deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address a diverse array of challenges across multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
* Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
* Develops secure, high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
* Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
* Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
* Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies
* Contributes to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
* Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, with expertise in Java 8+ distributed application development, REST, microservices, and Spring Boot
* Experience in modern SDLC practices such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment
* Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
* Experience working on multi-threaded, high-throughput, mission-critical, high-performance platforms
* Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
* Experience with cloud-native application development (e.g., AWS, GCP, private cloud, etc.)
* Experience with data security and encryption in an enterprise setting
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Experience with build automation using Maven
* Experience configuring Continuous Integration in Jenkins
* Experience developing open-source libraries or internal libraries that are integrated into applications by other internal teams
* Front-end experience in React, or any modern frameworks
