WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR
POSITION SUMMARY
Verifies all shipping and receiving work within the warehouse is properly managed so that no bottlenecks or problems occur during the workday. Prioritizes shipping and receiving functions, which include creating a timely and accurate delivery schedule. Provides successful time flow of production work, and establishes and maintains designated areas in the warehouse for inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
* Adhere to safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program.
* Oversee and assist with all work processes performed in the warehouse by shipping and receiving operators.
* Arrange for incoming and outgoing shipments to be handled according to set company rules and regulations.
* Verify orderly and safe working conditions and ensure that all safety and health protocols are being followed by personnel.
* Assure the accurate and timely shipping and receiving of all materials and finished products.
* Establish and maintain workable and efficient inventory systems and controls for all raw and finished materials.
* Verify that inventory is kept current and ensure timely delivery of products from factories or vendors.
* Create schedules for each warehouse employee and ensure that he or she is working towards set goals.
* Train new employees and ensure that they are comfortable in the use and maintenance of equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
* Assist in preparing documents to be sent with each shipment and ensure that incoming deliveries are complete, along with associated paperwork
* Monitor and provide for the quality assurance of finished products and ensure that delivery deadlines are met properly
* Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Computer Skills: Must be able to show a basic understanding of computer operations.
To be considered, a candidate must be able to meet the following qualifications:
* Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
* Lift, push & pull 10 to 50 lbs.
* Wear department required, employer provided, personal protection equipment (PPE)
* Be able to regularly stand and move throughout the department and shift
* Mechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience a plus
