* Start Date: Between May 18-June 1
* Length of Position: 12-weeks
Purpose:
Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards), a program of Conservation Legacy, provides individuals with internships service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources.
Participants serve with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits to provide institutional capacity, develop community relationships, and support ecosystem health.
Stewards in partnership
with the Grand Teton National Park will host a Business and Administrative Assistant.
The mission of the National Park Service is to provide unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.
Serving in an administrative/budget role will foster a "big picture" view of Grand Teton National Park and public lands management as a hole.
This position will promote further appreciation for public lands management on a grand scale and will lead to networking with professionals across a variety of disciplines.
Serving in an administrative/budget role, the intern will primarily assist with tasks associated with scheduling, payroll, travel, charge card expense tracking, and warehouse operations.
These tasks will require interactions with staff (employees, volunteers, and other interns) on a routine basis across multiple workgroups in the park.
Description of Duties:
Administrative Duties:
* Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
* Cover and assist with warehouse operations when needed (i.e.
shipping and receiving, property assistance, etc.).
* Provide communication and customer service coordination for both internal and external partners.
* Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding and seasonal orientation procedures.
* Properly handle sensitive documents and information, which may include PII, following record retention policies and guidance.
* Assist Lost and Found volunteers in processing items.
* Assist other park divisions with administrative tasks as requested.
* Assist with generating payroll guides for timekeeping purposes on a bi-weekly basis.
* Reconcile and audit both travel and fleet charge card statements following current policies and guidelines.
