Sorter

Amsted Automotive - Piston Pin Facility has a need for a Sorter.  The Sorter will perform final inspection duties on parts to ensure quality product is shipped to customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1.

Inspect parts received from production for various quality issues including nicks, rust, wheel marks, scratches, dings, etc.
2.

Use provided tools to mark product and/or packaging to meet customer requirements and specifications.
3.

Provide parts that can be reworked to operations.
4.

Dispose of all parts that do not meet customer quality specifications and cannot be reworked.
5.

Complete sort logs to keep track of all product passing through final inspection.
6.

Participate in continuous improvement activities in and around the plant to assist in increases in productivity, safety, quality, etc.
7.

Work safely and help keep other team members safe by pointing out hazards in the work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: 

High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.  

Experience: 

No previous experience required.  Previous experience in a quality function is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge: 

 Excellent attention to detail is required.

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.

 Working Conditions:

 Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oil,  grease, heat, humidity, solvents and chemicals with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable.  Full-time position.  Will require overtime and weekend hours.
