Construction Coordinator I performs work associated with the coordination and inspection of construction projects ensuring projects meet construction guidelines and conform to company standards and specifications.
This position oversees the work of contractors and coordinates with external vendors and government entities as needed to complete construction projects
Coordinates and inspects construction projects, ensuring projects meet construction guidelines and conform to company standards and specifications.
Oversees and coordinates the work of contractors, external vendors and, as required, government entities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
What you will do to contribute to the company's success
* Provides construction coordination for larger projects across multiple areas and customer types.
* Negotiates and recommends design or construction changes.
* Researches and reviews plans, gathers necessary data and listing materials requirements for project.
* Maintains workflow databases and updates schedules.
* Manages and estimates costs and materials; helps develop and execute capital and expense budgets.
* Estimates construction costs, prepares budgets, manages change orders, approve contractor invoices and tracks expenses.
* Initiates bid process, inclusive of budgetary requirements and tracking thereof.
* Orders materials or coordinates with administrative personnel; may verify and reconcile invoices.
* Ensures completion of associated tasks within workflow databases and updates schedules.
* Inspects construction work or coordinates inspection assignments.
* Establishes aggressive timelines for work to ensure project meets due dates.
* May represent the company with utility and state / local entities.
Qualifications
* 4+ years' prior experience
* Knowledge of applicable federal, state and city laws, ordinances, codes and regulations.
* Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
* Knowledge of construction principles and related cost accounting principles.
* Knowledge of construction inspection principles and techniques.
* Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and architectural and engineering drawings.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel).
