Job Responsibilities:


* Provide patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist.


* Maintain accurate records of daily treatment notes and weekly progress updates in accordance with Occupational Therapy Board regulations.


* Implement treatments based on the physician's prescribed plan.


* Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.


* Communicate effectively with supervisors and the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans.


* Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.


* Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress reports, and recertification records in compliance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and requirements from governmental and third-party payers.


* Record any treatment changes according to established policies and procedures.


* Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide caregiver training in preparation for discharge.


* Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.


* Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.


* Build positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Required License or Certification:


* Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
