Job Summary
Assists with planning, coordination, and implementation of departmental safety requirements for employees.
Provides logistical support for emergency operation plans and assists with onsite compliance safety inspections.
Supports the management of health and safety processes to reduce risk, prevent injuries, and ensure compliance with County, local, state and federal regulations in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
Contributes to the development and delivery of training programs and presentations, disseminates safety information to staff through various media platforms.
Maintains records and certifications for departmental employees.
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
* Four (4) years years' work experience in occupational safety and health, environmental health, safety and training, or directly related experience or
* An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
* Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
