Title:  Junior Financial Analyst   

Location: Nationwide  - Onsite at government facilities

Clearance: Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) 

Schedule: Due to the nature of law enforcement work and operation, position may require occasional support outside of core working hours, as well as intermittent weekend support, mission dependent

Salary: $60,000-78,000/Annual

Job Summary: 

Supports the DOJ Asset Forfeiture Administrative Support Services (AFASS) Program by performing quality control and reconciliation of computer databases containing financial and compliance records.

This position contributes to financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in support of the program’s mission.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



* Conduct quality control and reconciliation of financial and compliance databases. 


* Review accounting practices for compliance with federal laws, regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices (GAGAS), and applicable Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars. 


* Analyze annual financial statements to ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, and programmatic requirements. 


* Identify improper or illegal expenditures and recommend corrective actions. 


* Evaluate logistics and operations of the audit and certification programs to improve efficiency. 


* Draft budget requests for office operations. 


* Perform other duties as assigned to support financial program objectives. 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:


* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; OR High school diploma/GED with a minimum of four years of related experience. 


* General knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles. 


* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and financial systems/databases. 


* Strong attention to detail with meticulous data entry accuracy. 


* Excellent oral and written communication skills. 


* Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities. 


* Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial data and recommend actions.
