SCADA Design Manager (Bend, OR)

SOLV Energy is an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and solar services provider for utility solar, high voltage substation and energy storage markets across North America.

Job Description Summary:
The SCADA Design Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the SCADA Design team, overseeing the design and delivery of SOLV SCADA platform.

This role is based full-time in our office in Bend, OR.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Internal


* Train and lead the SCADA Design team.


* Manage the SCADA Design project portfolio by assigning engineers, conducting regular task check-ins, and reporting to Project Managers and Engineering Managers.


* Own and maintain hardware design and drafting standards for the SCADA/EMS platform in EPC projects.


* Develop and uphold design and testing standards focused on product quality, reliability, and supportability.


* Communicate regularly with other SOLV business units and subcontractors to ensure SCADA designs meet project requirements and construction constraints.


* Support the OTS Preconstruction team by providing technical and budgetary input during scope of work reviews.


* Oversee project handoff reviews with assigned SCADA and Network engineers.


* Ensure SCADA hardware designs comply with industry standards, including UL, NEC, and NERC-CIP.


* Develop and maintain process workflows for the design team, clearly defining individual tasks and collaboration points.

External


* Interface directly with clients, including hosting in-person Factory Acceptance Tests.


* Proactively review design guidelines, installation manuals, and specifications to ensure compatibility between SOLV SCADA designs and new third-party equipment.


* Maintain relationships with SOLV Energy business partners and equipment OEMs to keep SCADA designs current with industry changes.


* Review input from SCADA integrators/builders to ensure compatibility with SOLV standards.


* Maintain industry awareness of the competitive landscape


* Support Business Development with technical presentations to prospective customers.


* Participate in visits and quality inspections of vendor and subcontractor facilities.
