Mechanical Engineer (Storage tank Designer)

Enersense Engineering Oy is currently looking for Storage Tank Designer to join our client's project team on industrial projects located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo.

This is a full-time, permanent position, offering an opportunity to work on demanding and technically interesting projects across various industrial sectors.

The start date is flexible and will be agreed with the selected candidate.

As a Storage Tank Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient design of storage tanks, process vessels and auxiliary tanks.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and design reviews to technical documentation, procurement support and as-built documentation.

The role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration with multiple stakeholders and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Main tasks and responsibilities:


* Review and evaluate engineering designs for storage tanks, process vessels and auxiliary tanks to ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes and project requirements


* Participate in feasibility and process design phases, providing technical guidance and recommendations for design optimization


* Perform strength calculations and mechanical analyses to ensure structural integrity and safe operation


* Support troubleshooting activities and resolve mechanical design issues to prevent downtime and production interruptions


* Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, data sheets, reports and drawings


* Review and update as-built drawings and ensure documentation accuracy


* Participate in bid evaluations, purchase requisitions and cost estimation activities


* Cooperate closely with customers, vendors, manufacturers and internal project team members


* Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements (e.g.

PED, MD, EN standards)


* Maintain accurate records related to equipment, changes, deviations and maintenance activities


* Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


* Report progress and technical status to the project organization

Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field


* 4-10 years of professional experience in a similar role within industries such as chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, power generation, or oil & gas


* Proven experience with storage tanks, process vessels and auxiliary tanks


* Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (PED, Machinery Directive, EN standards)


* Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and software (e.g.

PV Elite / VVD, Aspen, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor)


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams


* Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Finnish is considered an advantage)
