Senior Accountant

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team.

This role creates value through excellence in financial reporting, business partnering, and process improvement.

This role will be responsible for components of preparation of financial information (both on a consolidated basis for GP LLC and for the corporate segment), management reporting, and the monthly close process.

The role will also be involved in other specialized accounting areas, such as intercompany accounting, cash management, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.

Our Team

The GP Controllers Organization provides support to 125+ manufacturing locations across the US, as well as at our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA.

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

Various corporate and intercompany accounting topics are inherent to the work this team does so a strong background in financial accounting is key.

Success in this role also requires a strong inclination towards business collaboration and a mindset geared towards process improvement.

Location

This is an onsite role at our GP HQ in downtown Atlanta, GA.

While GP offers some remote work flexibility, there is a need for hybrid/weekly in-office presence for this role given the importance of fostering relationships and collaborating across several capabilities.

What You Will Do


* Own the intercompany billing process, ensuring costs are allocated appropriately to the respective businesses and/or cost centers


* Transform the current process used to bill other Koch companies, that can benefit from automation and optimization


* Participate and review monthly closing activities related to Corporate Accounting areas, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through proper accounting treatment


* Perform ad-hoc reporting and information gathering to other departments to provide transparency to intercompany costs and balances


* Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions
