Responsible Person - Hayes

Role Overview          

The Responsible Person (RP) ensures compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and regulatory requirements in the handling, storage, and transportation of life science products.

This role safeguards product integrity, patient safety, and company reputation by overseeing quality systems and operational standards across freight forwarding activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:



* Regulatory Oversight: Ensure operations comply with GDP, MHRA, and other applicable regulations.

 



* Quality Management: Maintain and monitor quality systems, including SOPs, CAPA processes, Technical agreements and deviation handling.

 



* Temperature-Controlled Logistics: Oversee cold chain management, ensuring validated equipment and processes are in place.

 



* Audit Readiness: Lead preparation for internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.

 



* Training & Competence: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure staff competence in GDP and product handling.

 



* Risk & Incident Management: Identify risks, investigate incidents, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

 



* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary contact for regulatory authorities, clients, and internal teams.

 


* Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


* Audit outcomes: Successful completion of regulatory inspections with minimal findings.


* Deviation management: Timely resolution of incidents and CAPAs.


* Training compliance: 100% staff completion of GDP training within required timelines.


* Temperature excursion rate: Reduction in cold chain deviations year-on-year.


* Client satisfaction: Positive feedback scores from life science customers.


* Regulatory reporting: Accurate and timely submission of compliance reports.



* Regulatory knowledge: Deep understanding of GDP and life science logistics regulations.


* Quality assurance: Ability to design, implement, and monitor quality systems.


* Leadership: Strong capability to influence, train, and build compliance culture.


* Analytical thinking: Skilled in risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making.


* Communication: Clear, professional engagement with regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders.


* Operational excellence: Ensures efficiency while maintaining compliance standards.


* Ensures that all interactions are compliant with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements e.g.

anti-corruption


* Contribute to the First Choice continuous improvement program

 

Skills and Experience: 


* Degree in pharmacy, life sciences, logistics, or related field.


* GDP certification and proven knowledge of regulatory frameworks.


* 3–5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical logistics or freight forwarding.


* Demonstrated success in managing audits and compliance programs.
