Mechanical Engineering Intern

We are looking for a mechanical engineering intern for our Edmonton Plant.

Reporting to the engineering manager, the mechanical engineering intern will work with the engineering team on electrical distribution equipment control, metering, and protection projects.

This is an interesting opportunity for people who don't like routine and are willing to work with many collaborators.

What will you do?

Main responsibilities are:


* Preparation/verification of engineering documentation such as single line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagram and bill of materials - electrical and mechanical components selection;


* Partner with engineers to understand and collaborate on design and application;


* Explore shop floor implementation and knowledge sharing to create solutions;


* Support the plant during the manufacturing of the equipment;


* Participate in various meetings (technical reviews, kick-off, production, etc...);


* Technical support to internal and external customers.

Plus, you have the following qualifications and skills:


* Bachelor or Master's student in Mechanical Engineering;


* Experience using AutoCAD, MS Office and especially 3D Modeling would be an asset;


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;


* Excellent problem resolution skills;


* Experience with low voltage and/or medium voltage distribution equipment design would be an asset.
