A respected and well-established skilled nursing facility in the Fresno area is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD).

About the Role

The Director of Staff Development oversees all education, onboarding, training, and competency programs for nursing and facility staff.

This position is central to ensuring regulatory readiness, maintaining high-quality clinical standards, and supporting a culture of continuous learning.

You'll be responsible for designing and delivering training, managing annual and ongoing competencies, coordinating certifications, and ensuring staff are prepared to provide the best possible care.

This role works closely with both clinical and administrative leadership.

What You Will Lead


* Development and implementation of staff education and competency programs


* New hire orientation and onboarding


* Ongoing in-service training (clinical skills, regulatory updates, OSHA, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, etc.)


* Maintaining compliance with state and federal training requirements


* Supporting DON/Administrator with survey readiness and QAPI initiatives


* Coordination of certification requirements and documentation


* Building a positive learning culture for the nursing team

What We're Looking For


* Active LVN license in California


* Current DSD certification


* Skilled nursing facility experience strongly preferred


* Strong presentation, communication, and organization skills


* Experience with regulatory training requirements (CMS, CDPH, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.)


* Ability to educate, motivate, and mentor staff at all levels


* Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
