Mechanical Lab Technician

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Lab Technician to support our Research & Development team.

This role involves building, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and prototypes in a laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.

What You Will Do


* Assemble, modify, and maintain mechanical components, prototypes, and test fixtures.


* Conduct mechanical and functional testing on components and systems according to established procedures.


* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., torque testers, vibration tables, thermal chambers).


* Record and analyze test data; prepare detailed reports for engineering teams.


* Assist engineers in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.


* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with safety standards.


* Manage inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.


* 2+ years of experience in a mechanical or laboratory technician role.


* Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, and instrumentation.


* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.


* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


* Ability to lift 50 lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Familiarity with fiber optic cables and connectors.


* Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).


* Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and test software.

For this role, we anticipate paying $24.00 - $36.00 per hour.

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
