Data Engineer III - Oracle Database (SQL/PLSQL) Developer

As a Data Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

You are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities


* Development on Oracle Databases.


* Creates logical and physical data models based on new use cases.


* Creates all types of DB objects in Oracle DB, to support application development.


* Uses SQL and PL/SQL to query and data transformations.


* Performance Tuning.


* Supports review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise data


* Advises and makes custom configuration changes in one to two tools to generate a product at the business or customer request


* Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience


* Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, development and performance tuning.


* Advanced at SQL (e.g., analytical functions and aggregations)


* Experience across the data lifecycle


* Strong understanding of data modeling, normalization, and database design principles.


* Deep understanding of Oracle architecture, partitioning.


* Experience in working with Oracle metadata tables and dynamic performance views for advanced database development, monitoring, and optimization.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills


* Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Active Session History (ASH), and Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) for database monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.


* Working understanding of NoSQL databases


* Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data lakes and data lake-houses, and business intelligence tools.


* Familiarity or working knowledge of Databricks for big data analytics and Vector Databases for AI/ML applications is a plus.
