Job Title: Floor Technician 

Department: Accommodations  

Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and restoring a variety of flooring surfaces to ensure a safe, attractive, and high-quality environment.

This position is within a fast-paced athletic environment with frequent foot traffic and includes cleaning floors such as tile, vinyl, and specialty surfaces like basketball courts and gym floors.  

Key Responsibilities: 


* Perform cleaning, polishing, stripping, sealing, and waxing of various floor types, including tile, hardwood, vinyl, concrete, and sports surfaces 



* Maintain and operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and burnishers safely and efficiently 



* Inspect floors regularly for damage, wear, or hazards and report maintenance needs 



* Follow proper chemical usage and safety protocols in accordance with organizational and regulatory guidelines 



* Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment and materials for floor maintenance tasks 



* Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards 



* Perform a wide variety of cleaning activities as needed such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, polishing, vacuuming, etc. 



* Collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping staff to complete tasks efficiently and maintain high-quality standards 



* Interact with coaches, student-athletes, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner 



* Other duties as assigned by management 

Qualifications: 


* Experience with floor maintenance and knowledge of different flooring types and care techniques 



* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 



* Knowledge of safety procedures and proper chemical handling 

Preferred:  


* Bilingual – English and Spanish  



* Previous customer service experience  



* Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices  

  

Physical Demands and Work Environment  


* Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 75lbs 



* Ability to operate floor care equipment safely and efficiently
