Role Summary

The COTA provides direct patient treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and supports the delivery of high-quality rehab services.

Essential Duties


* Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist


* Document daily treatment notes, progress notes, and recertification documentation per state and OT Board requirements


* Follow the physician treatment plan and facility protocols


* Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed


* Communicate patient progress and concerns to the supervising OT and care team


* Participate in in-service training and interdisciplinary meetings


* Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver strategies


* Support discharge planning


* Help maintain a clean and organized therapy space


* Report equipment issues to ensure safe, proper functioning


* Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, and staff

Qualifications


* Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of California


* Strong documentation and computer skills (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)


* Meets all continuing education requirements and maintains license in good standing
