Speech Therapist-PRN

General Purpose - PRN Position
As a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you'll enjoy a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact each time you're onsite.

You'll help patients find their voice, improve communication, and build confidence—all while collaborating with families, physicians, and a supportive care team.

You'll also share your expertise through engaging trainings that elevate care throughout the facility.

Essential Duties

• Jump in and evaluate new patients within 24 hours (or 1 business day) of referral—helping set the tone for successful treatment.
• Create effective, patient-centered treatment plans and coordinate approvals with physicians.
• Provide engaging and impactful therapy sessions that help patients reach their goals.
• Guide and mentor SLPAs involved in patient care.
• Work closely with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to discuss progress, challenges, and care plans.
• Participate in patient care meetings, utilization reviews, and rehab conferences as needed.
• Lead fun, informative in-service trainings for facility staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and recertifications.
• Adjust treatment plans as needed to support ongoing progress.
• Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on home programs and strategies to support success post-therapy.
• Assist in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for CFY/RFP candidates and students.
• Follow state practice acts, professional standards, and facility policies.
• Build warm, positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provide support and supervision to CFY Speech Clinical Fellows when applicable.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology and one of the following:
• Current state SLP license
OR
• Compliance with required clinical hours, supervised experience, and national exam when practicing in a state without licensure requirements.

Comfort with documentation systems such as Casamba or PointClickCare is helpful.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Active, good-standing state license as a Speech Therapist
• Compliance with all continuing education requirements

Physical Demands
This is an active role that includes frequent walking, talking, hearing, reaching, and patient interaction.

Occasional lifting, bending, or climbing may be required.

Work Environment
