Director of Software Engineering

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within Wealth Management Technology you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments.
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
* Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
* Lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team responsible for the development, modernization, and support of Money Markets and Mutual Fund platforms
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Wealth Management and other business units to ensure platform alignment and adoption
* Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
* Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
* Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
* Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
* Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and client sensitivities related to Wealth Management products.
* Proactively address potential risks and ensure all technology solutions adhere to firm-wide standards and regulatory guidelines.
* Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
* Prior experience in Wealth Management technology and/or direct exposure to Money Markets and Mutual Fund products.
* Proven track record of building large-scale, cloud-native solutions.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in incident management and issue resolution.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate across large, matrixed organizations and influence senior stakeholders.
* Experience managing and developing high-performing engineering teams.
* Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and client sensitivities in financial services.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
