As the Oversight Lead for International Payments Vice President in the Consumer 2nd Line of Defense (2LOD) Risk Management organization, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cross-border payments, including wires and blockchain transactions.

You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with cross-border payments, such as fraud, scams, compliance, and operational vulnerabilities.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, ensure adherence to international regulations, and serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on potential threats and opportunities in an evolving global landscape.

In this role, you will provide independent oversight, guidance, and challenge to the first line of defense (front-line business units) to ensure that risks associated with wires and blockchain payments are effectively managed and remain within the organization's risk appetite.

Responsibilities include reviewing product and feature designs, developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks and policies tailored to the unique complexities of both traditional fiat and digital assets.

You will also partner with Legal, Compliance, and Controls teams to address emerging issues and provide timely, actionable guidance.

Additionally, you will communicate critical product challenges and risk insights to senior leadership, helping to shape strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement in our risk management practices.

Job Responsibilities


* Look for ways payment use cases can potentially facilitate fraud and scam scenarios, as well as operational and reputational risk


* Evaluate new payment features or modifications to existing services to ensure that the Product team has identified all the risks and has included appropriate controls to mitigate risks


* Know the international payment flows you oversee just as well as the Product team


* Have a working knowledge of cross-border controls that are used to mitigate inherent risk in Digital and Blockchain


* Collaborate with the business to solve problems but escalates within the risk management framework when the business exposes the bank to risk in an unsafe way


* Work effectively as an individual contributor and collaborative team member on simultaneous projects
