Stand-Up Forklift Operator

Job Responsibilities


* This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.


* Transfer raw materials from storage to production using a riding pallet jack or forklift.


* Move finished products from the production line to the freezer.


* Offload delivered raw materials and supplies to the storage area; organize items according to facility specifications.


* Stack and organize pallets and maintain a clean working area.


* Remove empty combos and garbage pallets from the department.


* Comply with all facility and organizational policies related to workplace conduct, workplace safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and other operational requirements.


* Understand and apply appropriate safety procedures through training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to all safety policies, regulations, and standards.


* Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders; route materials and record shipment data (e.g., weight, charges, space availability, and discrepancies) in the computer system.


* Prepare outbound products with appropriate seals and labels; stage materials for pickup using equipment such as scales, postage meters, hand tools, power tools, and hand trucks.


* Receive inbound deliveries by reviewing contents, order records, manifests, and invoices to verify accuracy; record receipts in the computer system and arrange storage per established procedures.


* Respond to customer inquiries courteously, accurately, and promptly.

Investigate issues related to shipping, inventory, and costs; refer complex issues as needed.


* Perform routine clerical tasks including filing, sorting, printing, copying, and faxing.


* Follow all organizational rules, including work rules, employment policies, safety procedures, and GMPs.


* Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills


* 0-1 years of experience in a related field preferred.


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


* Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.


* SAP experience preferred.


* Knowledge of Outlook and Excel.

Education


* High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements


* Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, conveyors, and personnel (may vary by role).


* Some work may occur in an office environment.


* No domestic travel required.


* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


* May require bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, using hands/fingers, talking, hearing, and operating tools or controls.


* May require standing or walking on concrete flooring for more than 4 hours.
