Materials Supervisor
POSITION PURPOSE
The Materials Supervisor is a Tactical Leader responsible for the flow of material and information related to Inventoried Material within BAC's manufacturing environment.
Directly responsible for receiving, material handling, warehouse control, kitting, inventory accuracy, loading and shipment of product, coordinating production material kitting and delivery to the line, and control of non-conformance product.
This position has direct reports, and is accountable for accuracy, movement, safe handling, storage, and protection of product from delivery to final shipment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Owns personal and team safety for Material Movement Group.
Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
* Support production with inventory in the correct quantity, location, condition, identification, delivery time.
* Establish objectives for the team that are aligned with strategy and evaluate performance.
* Develop all team members with a specific emphasis on potential leaders and high performers.
* Continuously implement logistical improvements to support timely delivery of all materials to all production areas, meeting needs of the internal customers.
* Define and manage ideal inventory levels; maintain PeopleSoft inventory attributes on all production parts.
* Assist with disposition and monitoring of obsolete and slow moving inventory.
* Ensure accurate inventory; monitor and control inventory adjustments and complete the month end report.
* Perform all required cycle count processes within PeopleSoft; orchestrate related flow of information; complete month end cycle count variance report.
* Manage all consigned inventory programs; act as primary contact to relevant vendors.
* Ensure the receiving procedures protect BAC’s financial interests and quality standards.
* Manage and resolve non-conformance product at the time of receipt including coordinating vendor returns, processing debit memos, and adjusting the inventory.
* Resolve PeopleSoft inventory and material movement errors at the root cause level.
* Maintain shipping records and receiving documents in accordance with regulations and document control policies.
* Establish effective controls to ensure that product is handled with zero defect or damage throughout the material movement process.
* Optimize space utilization in the plant, warehouse, and yard.
* Create inventory control processes to drive improvements within the value stream.
* Support the Accounting Department to resolve any issues that may arise.
* Ensure team and individual activities embrace sustainability, reduce the impact on the environment, minimize waste, maximize recycling, minimize energy and water usage.
