Basic Life Support Specialist

Work Schedule :

Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift.

The schedule will be 4 10-hour days Mondays - Fridays, with one rotating day off each week.

You will work at the Public Service Commission (PSC) building in Madison, WI.

Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Basic Life Support Specialist to:


* Participate in the coordination and development of training materials for AHA BLS courses and other certification courses taught at UW Health.


* Assist in the curriculum development and ongoing modification of curriculum of courses.


* Participate in the coordination of resources within UW Health and the community to organize and coordinate paramedic education programs and other programs as assigned.


* Teach courses to all levels of emergency care professionals involved in the delivery of emergency and critical care.

Qualifications



* High School High School diploma or equivalent Required


* Completion of a state-approved EMT-Paramedic education program Preferred or


* Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field Preferred

Work Experience



* 6 months Relevant teaching experience Required


* 3 years Experience in pre-hospital emergency response care Preferred

Licenses & Certifications



* Current AHA Instructor in BLS, or must obtain within six months from date of hire within 6 months Required


* Wisconsin state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or an EMT-Paramedic Preferred


* Nationally Registered EMT Paramedic Preferred
