Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Planer Setter Technician to join our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA!

Salary:



* Our starting pay is $26.00/hr.

or higher depending on experience.


* You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:


* 12 hours rotating shift (3-week repeating cycle as below)

Shift Hours: 5:45 a.m.

- 6:00 p.m.

or 5:45pm - 6:00am

• Work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (day)

• Off Thursday, Friday, Work Saturday (day, only if needed)

• Off Sunday, Monday

• Work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (night)

• Off Saturday

• Work Sunday, Monday (night)

• Off Tuesday, Wednesday

• Work Thursday, Friday (day)

• Off Saturday (repeat the cycle)

What You Will Do



* Conduct daily set-up and operation of the Planer to include changing and jointing of knives, operation of computer driven production systems (HMI), detailed troubleshooting, equipment repair, and quality inspections to ensure performance.


* Lead the front-end machine centers in the planer including planer infeed, tilt hoist, and stick recovery operators.


* Work cross functionally with regional engineers, millwrights, and quality operators to help produce the quality standard in the lumber industry.


* Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure machine reliability and escalate machine maintenance needs appropriately.



* Contributing to a team environment by cross training and filling in for other operators as needed.


* Everyone's role is to clean! No job is above keeping our plant clean while adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.


* Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and other PPE as required by specific jobs.


* Able to perform tasks such as lifting to 50 lbs., walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and /or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.


* Able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.


* Able to perform tasks including lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.


* The ability to successfully use a computer without assistance to complete assigned tasks.


* Must be available to work flexible hours when needed to perform machine test including weekends, nights, and holidays.

This may include working on normally scheduled off days for training with millwrights or project work.


* Must follow the standardized set up process of the planer.


* Able to safely multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
