Perishables Handling Specialist

Join our dynamic Team at DHL Global Forwarding! We are looking for a Perishables Handling Specialist, within the Handling Department, at our Melbourne Head Office.

Key Responsibilities


* Daily manual handling – packing/unpacking of freight & perishable goods.


* Undertakes full range of duties under limited supervision. 


* Will have clearly defined procedures in the movement and administration of goods in warehouses.


* Manages cargo movements.


* Performs loading and unloading of truck or container.
 

Key Accountabilities:


* Supports Warehouse Team leader to meet operational targets.


* Helps to ensure contractor adherence to quality procedures.


* Attends to daily inbound/outbound activities of the warehouse.


* Receives, manages, and transmits physical documents.


* Performs runner activities e.g., CDZ, doc handling at air/seaport, etc.


* Records all inbound/outbound deliveries.


* Conducts random physical inspections of the inbound/outbound cargo.


* Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.


* Observes and follows strictly the warehouse safety and security policy and procedures.


* Observes proper use of warehouse tools and equipment and reports any incidents.


* Participates in the regular cycle counting activities.


* Maintains good transaction files of the warehouse.

Forklift operating and hand pallet truck operating skills are advantageous - with a valid Heavy Vehicle License/Forklift License.
