Business Office Manager

Provides support for the Loma Linda Assisted Living community through operations by maintaining business office systems.

A successful candidate will have experience in leading an organization by employing their exceptional clerical, administrative, financial and human resources skills on behalf of our community and residents.

This position is full-time exempt and can expect a wage of $21.00-28.00 per hour, with full benefits provided by PACS.

Essential Duties

• Obtain deposits for new move ins.
• Assist with managing resident trust, including printing, and distributing monthly statements.
• Maintain census and report status changes.
• May attend stand-up meetings at the request of the Executive Director.
• Participate in billing and payment processes including preparing bank deposits, and handling and reconciling petty cash.
• Generates monthly billing statements, including AR/AP reports and duties.
• Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
• Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations including bed-holds.
• Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
• Supervise business office staff, including taking appropriate disciplinary measures.
• Maintain census and report status changes.
• May attend stand-up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
• Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
• Prepare TARS as needed.
• Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
• Responsible for assisting in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes for all community employees.
• Handles all payroll functions for the community.
• Responsible for tracking employee credentials, annual education, and other learning tasks through the learning system.
• Maintain confidentiality at all time.
• Closely partner with the Executive Director on the operations and financial business of the community.

Supervisory Requirements
May provide or assist with supervision at discretion of the Executive Director.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in administrative or clerical work.

Advanced learning past high school is preferred.

Preferably one year's experience in long-term care facility.
Experience in senior living billing and payment.
Proficient in Microsoft products and computer skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.

Language Skills
Ability to read technical procedures.

Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems.

Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
