Liberty Resources is currently seeking a Per Diem Youth Specialist for Oswego County.

Position Summary:

The Youth Specialist supports children/youth with the development and utilization of skills needed to restore and support their achievement of developmentally appropriate functioning.

This role helps youth increase independence, daily living skills, and successful community integration as part of a comprehensive service plan. As a Youth Specialist, you will work with youth ages 0-21 in their home or in the community who face emotional or behavioral challenges.

Job Responsibilities: 


* Implement skill-building services focused on daily living, socialization, community participation, and health management.


* Coach youth in natural settings such as the home or community to generalize coping strategies and functional behaviors.


* Support youth in developing healthy routines, interpersonal skills, and personal autonomy.


* Document all service contacts, progress toward goals, and incidents in accordance with Medicaid billing standards.


* Engage families and caregivers to support practice of new skills outside of sessions.


* Follow the individualized treatment plan, ensuring that activities are appropriate to the youth’s developmental level and needs.

 Qualifications:


* Be at least 18 years of age


* High School diploma or equivalent, and 2 years of experience in children's mental health, addiction, foster care, or related field is required (Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related human services field, or a Master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required)


*  As part of hiring, must be cleared by the State Child Abuse Registry and must complete fingerprinting clearance


* Have a valid driver’s license
