Pay Range: $37.00 - $40.00/hr
* Assists the Assistant Director of Nursing Services in managing and directing the Nursing Services Department.
* Provides direct nursing care as necessary.
* Makes rounds to ensure that nursing personnel perform their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
* Makes rounds with physicians as necessary.
* Communicates information to nursing personnel regarding new resident admissions and resident discharges and provides oversight of the admission and discharge process.
* Reviews nursing personnel medical record documentation to ensure that it is appropriately and accurately descriptive of the nursing care provided.
* Contributes to the development and maintenance of written nursing policies and procedures.
* Provides written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services and Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing services department.
* Prepares for and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
* Supports the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
* Evaluates and implements recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.
* Delegate to each Charge Nurse the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform his/her assigned duties.
* Ensure that all nurse aid trainees are under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
* Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
Report findings to the Director.
* Consult with the resident, his/her family, and the resident's physician in planning the resident's care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., as necessary.
* Notify the resident's attending physician and next of kin when there is a change in the resident's condition.

Education and/or Experience:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Must have, as a minimum, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
Certificates and Licenses:
* Must possess an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse license valid in this state.
