Job Description:

The Machine Learning research team at Hewlett Packard Labs seeks highly motivated Ph.D.

student summer interns to work on cutting-edge machine learning research focusing on Large Language Models, Agentic AI, and Reinforcement Learning, and to bring in significant innovations in the trustworthiness of AI, digital twins, sustainability, complex scientific applications like nuclear fusion, clean energy, and other domains.

As the central research organization for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Hewlett Packard Labs' purpose is to deliver breakthrough technologies and technology advancements that provide a competitive advantage for the company by investing in fundamental science and technology in areas of interest to HPE and getting the resulting technologies ready for adoption into new and existing markets.

The Artificial Intelligence Research Lab focuses on researching and developing technologies, architectures, and software to develop cutting-edge solutions in key areas of Machine Learning, including Large Language Models, and Reinforcement Learning.

This position is for the Artificial Intelligence Research Lab's core Machine Learning Research team.

It focuses on complex, multi-objective, and multi-agent Reinforcement Learning and LLM agents as reasoning engines, with innovative applications to digital twins at scale, sustainability, complex clean energy generation, nuclear fusion, and similar complex problems.

Much of our research is directed towards LLMs and Agentic mesh.

Our work involves multiple external collaborations with premier research institutes, National Laboratories, NIST (AISIC), and universities.
