Facilities Assistant

Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday

About the Role
Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our organization's facilities.

Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure that all facilities-related tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 


* Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.
+ Assisting in the coordination and oversight of repairs, preventative maintenance, and upgrades related to all equipment.
+ Responding to facilities-related inquiries and requests from staff members.
+ Utilizing building automation systems to monitor and control HVAC, lighting, and other facility systems for optimal energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
+ Acting as part of the on-call team to respond to facilities-related emergencies outside of regular working hours.
+ Assisting outside vendors and contractors with regular inspections and testing in addition to fire alarm and fire suppression systems to ensure they are operational and compliant with safety regulations.
+ Collaborating with the Facilities Manager to schedule and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.

Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to all preventative maintenance and repairs.
+ Assisting in the implementation of safety procedures and protocols related to generator operations, fire safety and employee safety and comfort.
+ Conduct data entry into company systems, and review and verify the information to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
+ Perform simple inventory-control tasks, checks on quantities and orders supplies when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications 


* Knowledge of building automation systems including fire alarm and fire suppression systems.


* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, particularly during on-call and emergency situations.


* Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical individuals.


* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, problem-solving, and compliance.


* Proficiency in using computer applications and software, such as building automation systems and fire alarm monitoring systems preferred.


* High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.


* Additional relevant certifications or coursework in facilities management, electrical systems, or fire protection, preferred.


* Proven experience in supporting day-to-day operations and maintenance of an organization's facilities.
