About the Role
The Clinician III plays a key role in providing high-quality behavioral health services and clinical leadership within Compass Health's San Juan County Mental Health Program.

This position provides a range of behavioral health services to children, youth, families, and some adults - including assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, group therapy, and case management.

In addition, the Clinician III supports program operations through clinical supervision of MA- or BA-level clinicians and/or interns, assists with crisis coverage, and serves as a clinical lead in the absence of the Program Manager.

The Clinician III ensures that clients receive person-centered, trauma-informed care, and that services align with Compass Health's mission of promoting whole-person wellness and recovery.
Key Responsibilities


* Provide direct behavioral health services including individual, family, and group therapy, utilizing Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) whenever possible.


* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families.


* Routinely assess risk for self-harm, harm to others, and other safety concerns; develop safety and crisis plans as appropriate.


* Coordinate care and communicate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and community partners to support integrated service delivery.


* Provide clinical supervision and guidance to clinicians and interns, ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards.


* Support Program Manager in clinical oversight, implementation of service strategies, and performance monitoring.


* Serve as a clinical lead during Program Manager absences and provide consultation or coverage as needed.


* Participate in crisis intervention, consultation, and coverage across programs as assigned.


* Serve as agency representative at community meetings, workgroups, and committees.


* Support workforce members in meeting service hour goals and maintaining accurate, timely documentation.


* Document all clinical services in the electronic medical record (EMR) to agency and regulatory standards.


* Meet or exceed service expectations, including timeliness and productivity metrics.


* Remain informed of current best practices, behavioral health trends, and regulatory updates.


* Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.


* Maintain compliance with required certifications, professional licensure, and agency policies.


* Practice safekeeping of client protected health information (PHI) per HIPAA and Compass Health policy.


* Demonstrate ethical behavior, professional integrity, and respect for diversity in all interactions.
