Consultant, Environmental Scientist

ERM is seeking a motivated Consultant, Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Edmonds, Washington.

Working under the direction of project managers and partners, the successful candidate will work on interesting projects with a focus on the analysis of analytical data and progressing environmental investigations and remediations.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to support a team of specialists across several disciplines (e.g., chemistry, biology, sediments, oceanography) working for public and private sector clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Provide support for environmental investigations, including; planning, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting aspects.


* Manage large amounts of environmental data (primarily chemistry).


* Conduct field investigations related to sediment, soil, and water quality, including working on boats and research vessels.


* Prepare accurate and professional technical reports including data assessment and evaluation in original text.


* Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.


* Support multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, marine science, oceanography, geology, or a relevant physical science.


* 2+ years of relevant experience. 


* Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.


* Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.


* Intermediate experience with spreadsheet and database comprehension.


* Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.


* Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.


* Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.


* This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

​PREFERRED:


* Master’s or Doctorate degree in chemistry, marine science, oceanography, geology, or a relevant physical science.


* 2+ years of consulting experience conducting CERCLA-style state and federal site investigation/remediation projects.


* Experience managing large amounts of data using database management systems.


* Experience performing statistical analysis on environmental data.
