Job Description:


* Patient Treatment: Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.


* Documentation: Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board requirements.


* Treatment Compliance: Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan.


* Training Support: Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.


* Communication: Effectively communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.


* In-Service Training: Participate in in-service training programs for other staff within the facility.


* Documentation Requirements: Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and third-party payer requirements.


* Policy Adherence: Record treatment changes per facility policies and procedures.


* Family and Staff Instruction: Instruct patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services, and participate in discharge planning.


* Cleaning and Maintenance: Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.


* Equipment Monitoring: Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it is kept in good working order.


* Interpersonal Skills: Relate effectively and positively with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Required License or Certification:


* Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant License
