Rotating Maintenance Technician

Koch Fertilizer Wever, LLC is looking for a Maintenance Technician for Rotating Equipment to join our Maintenance team in Wever, Iowa.

You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing rotating machinery critical to our operational success.

You will ensure the reliability and efficiency of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, and related mechanical systems to support our production goals and safety standards.

What You Will Do


* Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on rotating equipment.


* Diagnose mechanical issues using precision measurement tools and vibration analysis equipment.


* Align shafts, balance rotating components, and replace worn or faulty parts.


* Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.


* Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with safety and environmental standards.


* Participate in shutdowns and turnaround activities, ensuring equipment readiness.


* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Two or more (2+) years of maintenance experience working with rotating equipment in a chemical industry or industrial manufacturing environment.


* Experience working on API pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, gearboxes and/or motors.


* Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.


* Willing and able to meet all physical requirements:



* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.


* Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.


* Ability to climb straight ladders.

Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.


* Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.


* Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.


* Confined space entry may be required.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Certification in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), vibration analysis (e.g., Level I or II), or alignment techniques.


* Fertilizer or related industry manufacturing experience


* Experience working with Maximo or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).


* Machining experience using a lathe and a mill.
